YCSO Search And Rescue Called To Sedona Area Twice Last Wednesday
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team was called to duty twice in Sedona last Wednesday. The first call came at around 4:30 a.m. when two hikers from North Carolina went missing the day before in the Devils Bridge area outside of Sedona. A rescue helicopter searched the area later in the morning and found the 62 and 59 year old in good condition. They told officials they became lost because they were unfamiliar with the trail and failed to bring a map. At around 2 p.m., rescuers were called to the Bell Rock area of Sedona on a report of a 38-year-old woman who became stranded while hiking on the rock. The woman became stranded when she decided to become “adventurous” by going off trail and reaching a point where she couldn’t continue. She was able to call for help and a helicopter arrived and took her to safety. The woman was unharmed in the incident.
