Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials made a large drug bust Monday on Interstate-40 near Ash Fork. K9 deputies arrested 20-year-old Eduardo Pedro Martinez from Texas during a traffic stop at around 7 a.m. Deputies found nearly 48 pounds of cocaine and over 27 pounds of marijuana. Deputies stopped a gray 2016 BMW sedan for equipment violations. Martinez was asked to get out of the car and refused. He was arrested for failure to comply with a police officer. The deputy sent his K9 “Vader” into the car, who found the stash of drugs inside. After a further search, Martinez was also in possession of a fake Social Security Card. He has been arrested on numerous drug charges, along with a forgery charge. Martinez has been booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on 750-thousand dollars bond.
