The trial for one of four people accused of killing a Flagstaff man at a local motel in September of 2017 is being pushed back until October. The trial for then 16-year-old Mirelle Gorman was supposed to start at the end of April. She is facing second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Jaron James, who was found dead in his room at the L Motel at 121 South Milton Road. Officers noticed that James had several injuries to him at the time of his death after the teens allegedly beat him during a party at the motel. Another suspect, Jayda Fortune’s trial for second-degree murder is set to begin in May. The other two suspects, Lawrence Sampson-Kahn and Kayson Russell, pleaded guilty back in 2017 and are both serving three years of intensive probation.
