Two Prescott area brothers were honored Wednesday for their quick-thinking and actions to save their great uncle’s life. Fire officials say ten-year-old Wyatt Eyler and his 11-year-old brother Patrick jumped to help Don Mapes of Prescott back on July 14th when the car he was working on, slipped off the jack stands and pinned him under the car. The kids called their mother to help and ran to a nearby garage to get more jacks. They were able to life the car off their uncle before emergency personnel arrived. Mapes was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. The boys were honored at Prescott Fire Station 75 by the crew that responded to the call. They were given life-saving awards and got to ride in a fire engine.
