Two men are in jail after they were arrested last week on drug and firearm possession charges near Cordes Lakes. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say a deputy stopped a U-Haul truck for several moving violations while traveling north on I-17 north of Cordes Lakes last Thursday. The driver was 34-year-old Ann Duffy along with a 15-year-old female passenger. Thirty-eight-year-old Dustin Perley from Phoenix and 48-year-old David Everitt from Clarkdale were in the truck bed. Duffy told the deputy they were headed to Prescott, but had passed the exit on the highway. A record check found Duffy’s license was suspended. While talking with the deputy she admitted to using meth and marijuana. During a search of the truck, they found baggies hidden in a can along with a scale, meth pipe, paraphernalia and a box containing evidence of drug sales. They also found a pistol with several rounds of ammunition. Everitt and Perley were booked on a slew of counts related to the arrest. They both remain in jail on $15-thousand dollars each.
