The first phase of the Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Intervention program has been rolled out in Yavapai County. Recently the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office hosted two instructor courses in the past month certifying 30 instructors in Mental Health First Aid. Fifteen of the 30 are with various schools throughout Yavapai County and will provide the eight-hour block of youth Mental Health First Aid to school personnel and those who work with youth. The other 15 trained were from eight law enforcement agencies in the county. If you are with a school or organization that works with youth ages 12 and older, or a first responder and would like to host a training session, or have questions, contact Nancy Gardner at firstname.lastname@example.org or (928) 554-8593.
