The Tank Fire is one of at least seven wildfires that started in the Coconino National Forest thanks to lightning Wednesday. The Tank Fire is burning in an area about a mile north of Clints Well, but forward progress has been stopped. The fire started about one-to-two miles northeast of the junction of Lake Mary Road and State Route 87. The fire has burned at around 170 acres and is 75-percent contained. Fire officials say crews are making good progress. Around 100 structures were threatened, but none have been destroyed. A pre-evacuation notice was issued for private residences three miles north of that junction.
