Fire restrictions are starting to be issued across Northern Arizona. Coconino National Forest and Coconino County officials have called for Stage One fire restrictions for areas of the Red Rock Ranger District and for areas below the Mogollon Rim starting on Friday. Stage Two fire restrictions started today on the Tonto National Forest. Stage One restrictions will begin Friday on the Prescott National Forest. Stage One means no campfires, charcoal, coal or wood stoves are not allowed unless they are done in a developed recreation sites. Smoking is also not allowed, unless it’s done in a vehicle. Stage Two means no campfires at all. Additional fire restrictions are expected to be announced soon.
