Kyrsten Sinema has become the first female to serve in the U.S. Senate from Arizona as she has defeated Martha McSally in a close race. McSally conceded to Sinema Monday night. Sinema leads McSally by over 38,000 votes after Monday’s update. This may not be the end of McSally for a Senate seat. If current Senator Jon Kyl resigns before the end of his term, McSally would be a strong candidate to take his place. Kyl currently is serving the late John McCain’s term. In the Secretary of State’s race, Democrat Katie Hobbs has now taken a 56-hundred vote lead over Steve Gaynor, made a huge surge on Monday.
