Democrat Kyrsten Sinema will have another opponent for the party’s nod in August. Former Republican Shawn Redd has announced he is running for Jeff Flake’s seat in the Senate. Redd ran two years ago as a Republican for Congressional District One, but he has switched affiliations to the Democratic Party. He is a member of the Navajo Nation and has lived and done business in Arizona for 15 years. Redd also worked as a consultant to the Navajo Nation for more than 20 years. Back in 2016 he finished fifth out of six candidates in the CD1 Republican primary. He will go against Sinema and activist Deedra Abboud.
