The proposed hotel and conference center, that was slated to be built near the Flagstaff Airport, is no more. The City of Flagstaff announced today that Greentree Hospitality Group, Incorporated is cancelling the purchase and sale agreement with the city, for the property at the corner of Pulliam Drive and John Wesley Powell Boulevard. The city entered into the PSA with Greentree back in 2017 for just over five-and-a-half million dollars. Funds associated with the agreement were planned to provide improvements to the airport. Greentree planned to build 15-thousand square feet of office space for Greentree’s U.S. corporate headquarters, a hotel, restaurant and event center. Greentree told the city the cancellation was mainly due to significantly higher costs for construction and development than originally projected. The city is evaluating the next steps for the property.
