Fire managers on the Coconino National Forest will conduct more prescribed burns this week. A 100-acre prescribed burn is set for near Munds Park on Tuesday. Officials say the burn will take place just south of Munds Park, south of Odell Lake sometime after 8 a.m. Smoke from the burn is expected to move east and northeast and may settle into the Munds Park, Munds Canyon and Oak Creek Canyon areas. The burn needs to be conducted to protect Munds Park from severe wildfire. A large burn with a lot of fuel will take place Wednesday near Lower Lake Mary. Fire officials plan to burn over 13-hundred acres. The fire is expected to pump out a lot of smoke after 8 a.m. Crews will also burn north of the San Francisco Peaks on Thursday, south of Kendrick Park, east of Highway-180. Crews will burn over 13-hundred acres on that project as well.
