The Prescott Valley Police Department had a brief search on their hands after a teenage girl escaped from custody of DCS last week. Officials say the 16-year-old was in the custody of Department of Child Services, who were transporting her to Maricopa County for residency relocation, when they stopped at a Woody’s on State Route 69 and the girl fled on foot last Thursday. Police located her in the area of Windsong Drive at Florentine Drive. The girl was told to stop by police and when she didn’t, she was tazed and taken into custody. She was arrested on booked on multiple charges as a juvenile, including running away and resisting arrest.
