Prescott man who was wanted for attacking a 45-year-old man last Saturday at a Verde River campsite has turned himself in to police. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say 41-year-old Robert David Pearsall approached the man in the Drake area at around 9 p.m. last Saturday and without warning, struck the man in the head, face and chest multiple times with a hardened piece of wood. The attack caused severe swelling and blood loss to the head and face of the victim. The attack was so severe, the blows were hard enough to break and splinter the wood used in the assault. Pearsall fled the scene after being confronted by witnesses. The victim was taken from the campsite to Highway 89, where he was eventually airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment. Pearsall gave himself up Friday and was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges related to the incident. He has since been released on $20-thousand dollars bond.
