A Prescott man was arrested Friday morning after he tried breaking into two homes. Police say a man was seen pounding on the front door and broke glass on one of the homes in the 800-block of Country Club Drive at around 3:40 a.m. The home was unoccupied at the time. While on the scene, police received a second call from a resident on San Carlos Road, who saw a man trying to break into a home there. About an hour later, police located a man fitting the description witnesses gave them. He attempted to evade officers on foot and entered a fenced area of Sharlot Hall Museum. The suspect, 31-year-old John Dammer, was taken into custody. Dammer has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous charges related to the incidents.
