Authorities were called to Sinagua Middle School this morning after a student was been threatened by text message while on the bus heading to school. Flagstaff Police arrived at the school at around 7:30 a.m. Investigators found out several students were engaging in a playful texting banter that got out of hand. Police say the students involved are friends. One of the students involved was texting from a cellphone unknown to the other students and some statements were taken out of context and viewed as a threat. The students receiving the threat went right to school officials. The student who sent the text, immediately turned himself in as soon as he became aware there was a problem. The threat has been deemed unsubstantiated. School continued with minimal disruptions to the day. Students are being held accountable under the student code of conduct.
