Paid parking in downtown Flagstaff will be a reality by the first of October. City officials say ParkFlag will launch between September 25th and October 6th. When the program begins, customers will be required to pay for parking. Customers will be able to pay for parking at one of the over 100 kiosks or by using the Whoosh! smartphone app. Parking fees will be a dollar an hour, $1.35 if you use the app thanks to a 35-cent transaction fee. People can also pay for parking at the customer service counter at City Hall. The online portal for buying employee parking permits will be available in the coming weeks. Once the permit and pay-to-park components have started, the residential permit parking program will begin. ParkFlag will announce an official start date soon.
