Crews have completed work on westbound Interstate-40 west of Flagstaff. ADOT says crews finished work on five miles of freeway between mileposts 167 and 172 and will move traffic back to those lanes Thursday. Westbound I-40 traffic has been using one eastbound lane during work on the westbound side. Also, on and off ramps at Garland Prairie and Pittman Valley roads are reopening Thursday. They have been closed since May. In a few weeks, work will begin on the eastbound lanes between mileposts 167 and 172. Work on that stretch is expected to wrap up by the fall. Crews will continue to repave other portions of the highway from Cataract Lake to Parks.
