The Navajo Nation is expected to take up a bill that would allow construction of an aerial tram into the Grand Canyon. The tribe will discuss the legislation next week. Developers say the Grand Canyon Escalade would revitalize the region’s economy, but so far the project has had luke-warm support. The tram would take visitors from the eastern side of the Canyon, 32-hundred feet down to the Colorado River in ten minutes. To start the project, the Navajo Nation would have to invest 65-million dollars.
