First it was the NAU men’s cross country team and now it’s cross country runner Andy Trouard that has won a national championship. The senior from Tucson won the title in the three-thousand meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Texas A&M with a time of 8:04.94. Matt Baxter finished tenth in the race. NAU’s men’s team finished 15th at the meet, which was the second-best finish for a mid-major program at this year’s championships. NAU will start the outdoor season this weekend in Tempe as they compete in the Baldy Castillo Invitational at Arizona State.
