Multiple wildfires broke out Monday in the Prescott area. The largest was a 54 acre fire along Fain Road in Prescott valley. The fire began near the intersection of Fain Road and Lakeshore Drive at around 11 a.m. Central Arizona Fire crews, along with other resources, were used on the fire. Another fire started at around 9:45 this morning in the area between Navajo and Sheldon off Montezuma Drive in Prescott. Yavapai County Emergency Management officials say the fire was on across the street from Granite Creek Park. The fire was contained a short time later. Then at around 4 p.m., another fire at the park started on the east side of the La Guardia Bridge. Fire crews decided to let the fire burn through underbrush to clean the area before containing the fire to an acre. This is just another in a stretch of wildfires that have burned in the area over the past week. There were no structures lost in either fire. There’s no word on how the fires started.
