A man was shot and killed by a Coconino County Sheriff’s deputy early Saturday morning. Deputies were involved in an armed confrontation south of Parks on County Road 141 at around 1:13 a.m. Officials were called to the Pine Aire neighborhood on a report of domestic violence. A woman called 911 saying her ex-husband pulled a gun on her during an argument. Officials say 43-year-old Paul Mcvicker fled in a white car. Deputies found the vehicle a short time later. Mcvicker got out of the car with a gun in his hand. Despite multiple commands to drop the gun, he kept advancing on deputies. A deputy shot Mcvicker once, which caused him to fall to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies involved in the incident were not injured. The case is under investigation.
