A man has been in arrested near Winslow for shooting a firearm at a neighboring residence. The Navajo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an area south of Winslow Thursday. The reporting party told authorities Eric Hawkins had made threats of physical violence toward them earlier in the day. They came out of a shed on their property and heard five gunshots. At least one of the rounds hit the shed. Deputies talked to Hawkins who said the neighbors shot at his property, so he returned fire. Investigators say no shots were fired at Hawkins’ property and the reporting party said they didn’t shoot. Hawkins also said he fired at a drone that was being operated by the reporting party. The suspect was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and was taken into custody. Hawkins was also wearing body armor at the time of the arrest. He was booked into the Navajo County Jail on several felony charges and is currently being held on $100-thousand dollars bond.
