A man was arrested last week near Ash Fork after he was caught transporting marijuana with his five-year-old son. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a tan Ford F150 last Friday morning at around 6:30 a.m. for a moving violation on eastbound Interstate-40 near Ash Fork. The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the truck. The deputy deployed his K9 partner to search the truck. The dog found five duffel backs containing packages of pot, weighing in at 178 pounds total. Some of the marijuana was stored next to the boy. Nearly two-thousand dollars in cash was also found along with cell phones and marijuana stored in a jar in the center console. The deputy arrested 27-year-old Richard Arrington from Missouri on drug charges and child abuse. He was released Monday after posting a 100-thousand dollar bond. The boy was released to the custody of the Department of Child Safety, pending contact with his mother. The case is under investigation.
