Internet and phone service has been restored to Northern Arizona after a fiber optic line was cut north of Phoenix yesterday. The outage caused major problems for banks, businesses and law enforcement. Flagstaff Police had to re-route 911 service to DPS, meanwhile the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department’s 911 service was down to one line. Service was repaired at around 6 p.m. Century Link officials believe the outage was from an act of vandalism. The incident is under investigation. During the main outage, Suddenlink officials say a piece of local equipment failed that affected customers in a limited area of Flagstaff. Engineers replaced the equipment to restore service.
