YCSO Responds To Village Of Oak Creek Shooting Monday Night

Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of a shooting Monday night in the Village of Oak Creek. Authorities say 37-year-old Steven Owens, a resident of the Village of Oak Creek, claimed he shot another man in self-defense. Deputies arrived to the scene on Beaverhead Flatts Road at around 8 p.m. to find the victim with severe injuries. The man was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center for emergency surgery. There is no further information on his current medical state. Owens has been booked on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The incident is still under investigation.
