YCSO Still Looking For A Man Who Fled A Traffic Stop Wednesday In Cottonwood

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials are still looking for a man who fled deputies as they were trying to arrest him during a traffic stop in Cottonwood last Wednesday. Officials say 35-year-old Richard Jason Lyerla was a passenger in the car that was pulled over for driving without a license plate in the 25-hundred block of South Copper Drive. Deputies say he was acting nervous and gave them a fake name and date of birth. As deputies were about to take him into custody, he ran from them. Two deputies went after him, but lost sight. Lyerla has multiple warrants in Arizona and California, with the most serious being a parole violation warrant for stalking in California. He is also facing a slew of charges related to the incident in Yavapai County. Yavapai Silent Witness is offering a $400 reward for information leading to his arrest. If anyone has information on his whereabouts, contact Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232 or submit a tip online at yavapaisw.com.
