YCSO Deputies Were Busy This Past Weekend

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office had a busy weekend last weekend. On Saturday YCSO deputies responded to Interstate-17 for a wrong way driver heading south in the northbound lanes. Deputies found the vehicle stopped on the side of northbound I-17 facing south stopped in the median. The driver, 37-year-old Lionel King, was booked into the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde on aggravated DUI. Deputies also tended to two ATV rollover accidents, one on Copper Basin Road and the other on Crown King Road. They also responded to a single vehicle accident on Cornville Road Sunday. On Friday, deputies responded to a report of a 63-year-old woman who fell off a cliff and into the water just off Perkinsville Road. The fall was about 15-to-20 feet. The woman remain conscious and was able to get out of the water, but complained of back pain. The woman was rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment of back and hip pain. Apparently the woman and her son were hiking and taking pictures when she lost her footing and went backwards off the edge.
