Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a motorcyclist last week while undergoing a seatbelt enforcement campaign. Deputies tried to pull over a man on a motorcycle in the Castle Canyon neighborhood near Prescott Valley last Saturday for no turn signal or visible registration and he fled police. The man was eventually located and arrested. The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Rafael Sanchez of Prescott Valley. He was booked on charges related to the incident and remains in jail on a $5,000 bond. During the enforcement campaign, three deputies worked nearly 20 hours of overtime conducting enforcement patrols. Ten seatbelt citations were issued along with eight moving violations. There were also arrests for reckless driving, DUI and driving on a suspended license.
