Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Cottonwood teen who is accused of threatening people at a party. Deputies were called to the home in the 27-hundred block of South Rio Verde in Cottonwood last Saturday at around 10:45 p.m. Officials say the 17-year-old had not been invited to the party and was confronted by several people about his age and drinking. The suspect “swept” the room with the handgun in the presence of ten adults and two kids. Before he left, he hit a person in the head with the gun. When deputies found the teen, he claimed the weapon he used was a BB gun. Upon a search of his room, deputies found .357 rounds, but that pistol was never located. He has been booked on 12 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, misconduct with a weapon and a minor carrying a firearm.
