YCSO Arrest A Man For Threatening Deputies And Ex-Wife With A Gun

Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after he threatened to shoot deputies and his ex-wife Friday in the Village of Oak Creek. Authorities received a call from a woman who said her ex-husband threatened her during an argument over the best school for their child. Officials say 27-year-old Kyle Bomgardner threatened the woman by putting a pistol under her chin and threatening to kill her. When deputies arrived at their home, a witness told them he saw the man holding the gun in his hand and that he had an audio recording of the incident where Bomgardner threatens that if they called police he could kill them both before officers arrived. He also said on the recording about killing law enforcement officers one by one as they arrived saying, “boom there goes another one.” Sedona Police say Bomgardner also threatened to harm officers when he was arrested in February. When deputies arrived, he had left the home with his five-year-old son. Within an hour both were found at another home in the area. After deputies tried to force open the door, Bomgardner opened it and was immediately taken into custody. He was found with a loaded magazine in his jeans and a loaded handgun, holster and more ammunition, as well as meth pipes inside the house. The child was unharmed. Bomgardner was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous charges including: assault, endangerment, child abuse and drugs and weapons charges.
