Yavapai County has seen some of the lowest numbers of COVID-19 positive cases since testing began. However, the county is starting to see a bit of a rise. Health officials said Monday there were 74 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the county over the weekend, raising the total to 493 cases with seven deaths and 220 recoveries. Hospitalizations are at its highest since the start of the pandemic as well. As of Monday, there are eleven COVID-19 positive patients at Yavapai Regional Medical Center Prescott, ten at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, along with one at the VA Hospital in Prescott. Even with the weekend rise, the number of negative tests to the total tested in the county is 97-percent.
