Yavapai County Seeing COVID-19 Cases In The Hundreds

Yavapai County is seeing one of its largest number of new COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started. County health officials say since Friday there have been 396 new cases of the coronavirus with four new deaths. There were 168 cases on Friday and the county averaged 132 cases per day over the weekend. Of the new cases, 89 were in Cottonwood, 83 in Prescott, 65 in Prescott Valley and 38 in Camp Verde. Yavapai Regional Medical Center has 22 COVID-positive cases at the west campus and 11 COVID-positive cases at the east campus. In response to the rising number of cases, YRMC officials have decided to suspend visitation at both campuses until further notice starting Tuesday.
