Yavapai County Search And Rescue Conducted Two Rescues Recently

Yavapai County Search and Rescue was involved in a pair of rescues recently. On March 12th a group of students from Arizona State University, who were hiking in the Sycamore Canyon area and crossed the Verde River and couldn’t get back across due to rising flood waters. They were not in immediate danger and had enough supplies for a few days. Crews came back for them the next morning and safely rescued the hikers. Then on March 11th on Mingus Mountain, crews responded to an area on Service Road 413 at around 4 p.m. The stranded people were heading back from Jerome to Camp Verde. Crews found two people and two dogs in good health. In both instances, people were well prepared in case of an emergency and didn’t risk their lives.
