Yavapai County is doing a great job responding to the U.S. Census, while Coconino County is still catching up. According to the U.S. Census, Yavapai County has the third highest percentage of respondents at just over 63-percent. Coconino County is tenth at 42.7-percent. When looking at cities, Prescott Valley is fifth in the state at 71.6-percent, followed by Prescott at six at 71.1-percent and Clarkdale is tenth at 70.1-percent. The Census is incredibly important, because it’s a head count of people in each county and city, which determines many things from funding to Congressional seats. Completing the Census is easy to do. Log onto 2020Census.gov and fill out the information, or when a census taker comes by your house take care of it then, or you can call 855-562-2020 and do it over the phone. The Census Bureau is still hiring for census takers. If you are interested, log onto 2020Census.gov/jobs. The Census count will end after September 30th.
