The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors has re-instituted the countywide fire ban, effective today. The decision to re-institute the ban was put back into play after Yavapai County Emergency Management determined a fire emergency exists in the county. These include lack of moisture this time of year, escalating fire weather conditions, the potential commitment of firefighting resources across the region/nation, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which may strain resources, and increased forest visitor use. Cities included in the fire ban include Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, Mayer, Cottonwood, Sedona, Camp Verde as well as unincorporated areas in the county.
