Yavapai County Man Arrested In A Cold Case Murder In Nevada Dating Back To 1979

A Yavapai County man was arrested Friday in connection with a murder in 1979. Nevada authorities say 73-year-old Charles Gary Sullivan has been taken into custody in the death of 21-year-old Julia Woodward. Woodward’s body was found in March of 1979 buried in a remote area north of Reno, Nevada. Authorities say DNA analysis of evidence linked Sullivan to the murder. Additional details were not released. Sullivan is expected to be arraigned in Nevada on Tuesday.
