Work continues on the Whiskey Fire burning southwest of Flagstaff. Crews will conduct a small burnout operation Thursday to clean up pockets of unburned forest fuels near containment lines. Wednesday’s burn sent a lot of smoke from the fire, but ignitions were highly successful in strengthening and securing containment lines. The fire has burned nearly 59-hundred acres and is 34-percent contained. Smoke from the fire is expected to move to the northeast today and tomorrow. Areas near the fire may be impacted.
