With COVID-19 Number Spiking In The State, Coconino County Sees Low Numbers

Coconino County recorded just one new positive case Wednesday, which is the lowest since testing began in March. Health officials say there were also 171 negative tests recorded with no deaths. The county also released its weekly COVID-19 report Wednesday. Of the 1,324 total positive cases of the virus, 419 have come from Flagstaff and 756 from tribal communities. There have been just over seven-thousand tests given in Flagstaff with a six-percent positivity yield. Also 796 people have recovered from COVID-19, which is a 60-percent recovery so far. The county has seen a drop in cases in five of the last six weeks. Health officials remind residents that even though the county is seeing a decline, be mindful it’s a tourist area and people should continue the practice of washing your hands, social distancing and wearing a mask in public.
