Wisconsin Man Arrested For Having Three Pounds Of Cocaine In His Car

A Wisconsin man was arrested Sunday on Interstate-17 in Cordes Junction after Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies found three pounds of cocaine hidden in his vehicle. Officials say 38-year-old Marquis Johnson was pulled over after committing a moving violation in a gray 2019 Nissan Altima with Oklahoma plates at around 7 p.m. Deputies say he was following a car too closely on northbound Interstate-17. After talking to the nervous man, the deputy conducted a search of the car. The deputy noticed marks and scratches next to a door panel on the driver’s side door. After popping the panel off, the deputy found a package wrapped in duct tape that contained three pounds of cocaine. Johnson was booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on drug charges. He remains in custody on $100-thousand dollars bond.
