Winslow Police Looking For A Man Who Ran From Officers Thursday

Winslow Police are looking for a man from Keams Canyon, who fled from officers Thursday. Officers attempted to stop an older model Dodge Caravan on Snider Avenue and 2nd Street in Winslow. There was a man and woman inside and failed to stop. A pursuit began, and the driver eventually fled northbound onto North Park Drive and then north of the city limits. The van veered off the road and rammed through a closed barbed wire fence on North Park Drive. The male driver, 30-year-old Cameron Cepi, ran from the vehicle, into the desert, into some Tamarac trees and then ran toward the Navajo Nation borderline. The passenger, 33-year-old Carla Baca of Holbrook, was apprehended at the scene. Numerous officers from many agencies went looking for Cepi, but could not find him. Cepi is wanted not only for crimes connected to the incident, but he has an outstanding warrant from Holbrook Justice Court for failure to appear on a disorderly conduct charge. He is known to have violent tendencies and is considered dangerous. Baca cooperated with police and was released pending possible criminal charges. If anyone knows of Cepi’s whereabouts, contact Winslow Police or call 1-800-78-CRIME.
