Westbound Interstate-40 was briefly closed west of Williams Friday. DPS says State Troopers made a traffic stop about five miles outside of the town. The driver told troopers he may have hazardous materials on board. That’s when ADOT closed the interstate in the area, for safety precautions. The vehicle was checked out and was cleared a short time later and the interstate was reopened. The driver of the vehicle is being evaluated. No one was injured in the incident and traffic is once again flowing through the area.
