Northern Colorado’s Matt Johnson hit a three-pointer with .5 left to play as the Northern Colorado Bears beat NAU, 74-71, Saturday in the Skydome. NAU had gone on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 71 until Johnson’s three game the Bears the lead. NAU led most of the game until the Bears went on an 11-1 run and NAU went cold. Jalen Cone had a double-double for the Jacks, scoring 19 points and dishing out 11 assists in the loss. Carson Towt added 12 points and nine rebounds for NAU. The Jacks will head on the road for four games, starting with the second of two straight games against Northern Colorado Monday in Greeley. NAU will play Montana, Montana State and Portland State during the trip. Monday’s game against the Bears starts at 7:30 with the pregame show starting at 7 p.m. on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 in Flagstaff and Fun Oldies 97.9 in Prescott.
