A Flagstaff man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault Monday in the Fernwood neighborhood of Doney Park. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say a family called for help immediately after the victim was assaulted. While deputies were responding, family members attempted to locate the suspect outside the house. The family members saw a person they believed may be the suspect on a nearby road. When they got close the suspect drew a handgun and fired at least one shot and fled. No one was injured. During a search, he was found at his house and taken into custody without further incident. Deputies recovered the weapon used in the confrontation with the victim’s family. Twenty-two year old Kasey Johnson was booked on charges of sexual abuse, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, first degree burglary and two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. The incident remains under investigation. If anyone has information into matter, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 1-800-338-7888 or Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111.
