Two Prescott Men Arrested On Drug Charges, One On Drugs And Child Sex Trafficking

Two Prescott men were recently arrested in connection with drug sales, with one man also involved with child sex trafficking. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies contacted 47-year-old John McVeigh back on June 9th during a traffic stop on Enterprise Way and State Route 69. During the stop, deputies found five grams of heroin, three grams of meth, 66 “M30” fentanyl pills, 20 grams of marijuana, a THC vape pen and 91 Suboxone strips during a search of his vehicle. McVeigh admitted to his involvement in drug sales and was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on numerous charges. He was released pending a hearing. Then on July 14th, detectives learned McVeigh was staying at a hotel in the 800-block of White Spar Road and was reportedly in possession of at least 50 fentanyl pills and meth. A sheriff’s deputy pulled over McVeigh, who was with 34-year-old Brady Bennett and a 16-year-old girl. At the hotel, detectives found 11 grams of meth, 34 pills and a loaded syringe, likely containing heroin. McVeigh told detectives he met Bennett in prison and the girl was Bennett’s girlfriend. The girl was released to the Department of Child Safety. During the investigation it was found the girl was used by Bennett to trade favors for others. McVeigh had more drug charges added to the previous charges. Bennett was booked on drug charges and two charges of sexual conduct with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor. McVeigh is being held without bond. Bennett is being held on $200-thousand dollars bond.
