Two people were injured after a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday morning on State Route 69 in Prescott. Officers were called the collision at around 9:06 a.m. Just before the accident a deer attempted to cross the roadway. As traffic slowed, a 2004 Honda Accord, driven by a 49-year-old Prescott man, failed to slow and hit the rear end of a 2013 Acura sedan driven by a 21-year-old Prescott Valley woman. The force of the impact caused the Acura to spin into the median as the Honda continued west and hit the rear of a Toyota 4Runner. The driver of the Honda sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and was flown from the scene to a Phoenix area hospital. The driver of the Acura was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured. Westbound State Route 69 was closed during clean up and the investigation, which is still underway to determine if impairment played a role in the accident.
