Two People Are Injured After A Head-On Collision In Prescott Thursday Afternoon

Two people were seriously injured after a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Prescott. Then according to witnesses, the driver moved into the southbound lane and collided, head-on, with a 2021 Nissan SUV heading south. The SUV was driven by a 24-year-old Prescott woman. Both drivers had to be extricated by their vehicles by Prescott Fire crews. The driver of the Chevy was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital for treatment for significant injuries. The driver of the SUV was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center initially, but was later flown to a Phoenix hospital. Both are in stable condition. Willow Creek Road between State Route 89 and Pioneer Parkway was closed for about two hours to crews could clear the scene. The accident remains under investigation, however police do not believe impairment was a factor in the case.
