A multi-vehicle accident shut down State Route 69 in Prescott for several hours Wednesday. Prescott Police say five vehicles were involved in the accident in the area of State Route 69 and Walker Road at around 2:41 p.m. Officers learned a 34-year-old Prescott Valley man was heading eastbound toward Prescott Valley, when his white GMC Truck collided with other vehicles and then stopped after hitting a traffic signal at the intersection. The man was flown to a Phoenix area hospital with significant, but non-life threatening injuries and is listed in serious, but stable condition. Investigators say the collision is believed to be as a result of a medical emergency and there were no signs of alcohol or drug impairment. The passenger in the truck, also a 34-year-old Prescott Valley man, was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center for minor injuries, including a broken arm. No other injuries were reported. Portions of the highway were closed for about three hours while the scene was cleared and repairs were made to the traffic signal.
