Two elderly Ash Fork residents were found dead just outside a private property gate and land Friday. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say the bodies of 74-year-old Richard Alexander and his wife, 79-year-old Elizabeth Alexander were found on the land owned by the reporting party at around 1 p.m., in the seven-thousand block of Crookton Road, also known as Old Route 66. The couple lived in the Juniper Woods Community in Ash Fork. As of Friday, preliminary findings indicate there was no evidence of foul play and the couple may have died from weather-related conditions. The couple’s car was found a short distance away and it’s possible snow kept their bodies from view for a period of time. Detectives are working on a timeline in effort to determine travel details for the couple.
