The Tunnel Fire is now 95-percent contained with still just over 19-thousand acres burned. Resources continued with mop up and patrol Sunday, working toward full containment of the fire. Very strong and gusty winds rekindled areas of interior heat on the northeast end of the fire, causing some interior isolated torching, but did not threaten control lines. Firefighters closely monitored interior flare ups and mopped up areas of heat near the fire perimeter. Suppression repair activities continued on the southern portion of the fire, along Forest Road 420. There are 83 firefighters still working on the Tunnel Fire.
